1. What are the Camp's hours of operation? Camp begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. A late charge of $1 per minute applies.
2. Do you offer a "Before or After Care Program"?
To allow parents to complete their work day, we offers a Before and After Care Program. Parents may register for between one and five days per week. Details follow: Cost: $5.00 /hour (or any part of an hour) Before Program begins at 8:00 AM After Program ends at 5:00 PM. A late charge of $1 per minute applies. 3. When arriving to camp, where do I check in and drop off my child?
The designated check-in area is at the end of the parking lot - near the driving range. Please drop your child off continue around the parking lot. Please do the same at the end of the day so that the line keeps moving for the next child. If you need to speak with a counselor on the first day please park in the parking area and walk your child over.
4. Should my child bring a bag or backpack? What should I include in the backpack?
Please cover your child in sun block each morning. Please include the following in backpacks: water bottle, bathing suit, towel, sneakers, extra clothing (including warm clothing in the event of cool weather). Rental clubs are avaialable for $10 per week. Tennis raquets are provided. Please make sure the bag and belongings are clearly marked with you child’s name, and it will be stored safely by the camp’s staff.
5. If my child takes medication during the day, how will it be administered to him/her?
Groton Country Club Summer Camps have a qualified Head Counselors who monitor the safety of the campers and who are in charge of dispensing medication. Please provide a note with instructions and the medication. All medication is stored in a locked cabinet and will be returned to parent or guardian at the end of the enrolled session.
6. Will there be snack, lunch and drink breaks during the day?
Yes. There are water fountains easily available and we provide lunch and a small snack in the afternoon. Snacks include popcorn, crackers and apples.
7. What should my child wear to camp?
We ask that your child always wear sneakers and socks. Appropriate summer clothing is fine.
8. What is the counselor to camper ratio in the camp and will children be broken out into age groups?
The ratio is 6-8 children per Camp counselor. Children will be broken out into groups by grade completed in school. Groups are as follows:
Group A: Completed grades 1 and 2
Group B: Completed grades 3 and 4
Adventure I: Completed grades 5 and 6
Adventure II: Completed grades 7 and 8
Counselor In Training: Completed grades 9 and 10
9. What are camp lunches like?
Camp lunches, which are prepared by Camp Chef are nutritious and kid-orientated. Please see attached menu. Lunch is included in the tuition; but children are free to bring lunch instead.
10. What if I am unable to pick up my child? Can I designate someone else for pick up?
Yes. You are welcome to designate another family member or family friend to pick up your child. Please send a note with the child that morning with the name of the person who will be picking your child and a phone number where we can reach you. We will confirm the pick up your child with the designated person by asking them to provide his or her license.
